Player armor is a item that protects the player from harm or enables special functions, such as wearing Night Vision Goggles, providing oxygen in space/under water, & the ability to use a jetpack. Players typically start with Light Armor, which is also craftable. Medium Armor & Heavy Armor must be found in a Point of Interest. Armor cannot be taken off or modified without using an Armor Locker (CV,BA) or Armor Locker (SV,HV). Like weapons, armor loses durability and can be repaired at a Repair Station.
